Honestly, the one thing I don't have is the ethernet crimping tool and I shy away from buying one for $60 to crimp two connectors. OS X provides read-only FTP access in Finder, you can press Command-K in a Finder window and enter the FTP URL (something like ), and connect to FTP Server. It's just a matter of cutting the line that I ran through my attic to my computer, running the line down the wall, buying a switch, and then running the line from the switch back up to the attic and on to my computer. FTP Server lets you run the FTP service on your own computer and you can access the files on the host computer with any standard FTP client such as FileZilla. I should though, I have my PS4, CFW PS3, RGH 360, WiiU, PSTV, and my modded Chromebox running openelec (Kodi/XBMC) in there. I've been planning on running ethernet to my garage but just haven't gotten around to it. The other option I suppose is moving that particular PS3 to the family area where I can hook it up with an ethernet cable, make the transfers. I've always used mmos or multiman itself but have never been too impressed with the transfer speeds and run into freezing issues.
For now I'm limited to using a program on the PS3 itself because this particular console is in my garage (mancave) which means I'm limited to wireless transfers only.
